GRASS CUTTING AND LITTER PICKING:
The Parish Council aims to ensure our community is kept as clean and tidy as possible. Grass cutting and litter picking work, which is funded by the Parish Council, takes place throughout the Parish and this has made a huge difference over the years.
The Parish Council uses sub contractors to cut the verges and Play Area - grass cutting is carried out every 2 weeks during the growing season, weather permitting.
Litter picking is undertaken by directly employed staff who collect litter within Toft Hill and Etherley as well as the wider areas of the Parish including:
Pheonix Row
Greenfields Road to Etherley Incline
Etherley Bank and Spring Gardens
Hummerbeck, Bildershaw and Royal Oak
Fly tipping can be a probelm in the Parish and this is reported directly to the County Council for removal - if you are aware of any fly tipping please let us know so that this can be reported promtly or alternatively you can report fly tipping directly to the County Council via the Do It on Line system by using the following link: doitonline.durham.gov.uk/
