Proposed Re-routing of the A68 at Toft Hill -latest update - January 2024

The Parish Council has been informed by Durham County Council that the dates for the Public Consultation will be announced early in the New Year.  The format of the consultation will be confirmed and residents will receive information on how they can access the plans and make comments to the local authority.  The Parish Council will publish the consultation dates on this site as well as information on how to access the  consultation as soon as these details are received.

Updates of the Public Consultation - December 2023

The Parish Council has received numerous enquiries regarding progress with the proposed  re-routing of the A68 at Toft Hill,   asking when the work will  begin.  We have been in contact with the County Council on numerous occasions to obtain details of a Public Consultation to share with our Community.

However,  our recent newsletter included a County Council  statement included the consultation dates which were cancelled after the newsletter had gone to print.    The newsletter  had already been delivered with the incorrect information provided by Durham County Council which was extremely disappointing to the Parish Council.  

The County Council has now confirmed that the consultation start date and format is to be considered further and currently  no further information has been received..

The Parish Council will make public,  on this site,  any further details received from the Local Authority.
